- Generate an average of $2,740 every day ($1 Million a year) in passive income from apps, eBooks, courses, and investment companies
- Invest in 10 startup companies (5 so far) *made a new investment 30 mins after posting this
- Invest money > Save money
- Grow the course business to $100K/year (New topics, reach more people, help more people)
- Grow the eBook business to $250,000/year

Travel
- Visit 5 new US states/countries combined
- Visit the Amalfi Coast, French Riviera, Paris, Australia, New Zealand, South America
- Find the #1 cappuccino/coffee in each place visited
- Live on the West Coast for a few months

General
- Grow social media following organically through content that helps others start online businesses
- Don't spend any money on marketing any of the above businesses traditionally. All organic.
- Spend a ton of money on fun things. Vacations, restaurants, clothes, entertainment, and other people. Make 1000 times more though

You want to make $250k per year just from Kindle ebooks? That's impressive. What do you think, how many ebooks you need to have to reach that number?

Well a few years ago I thought $250K was impossible with apps too.

I have about 30 eBooks out now so another 30 quality books will get me close.

Hmm, so I guess apps generate around 3x bigger profit than ebooks now? Any advice regarding categories & niches to target (especially apps)?

I recommend starting with eBooks because they're much less expensive to develop. I discuss this more in my post called "Publish your first eBook this week."

Generally nonfiction, content-based eBooks.

Thanks for your reply. What about apps: do you see any good opportunities to enter right now? App Store seems to be so saturated and it must be really hard to compete with 'big players' out there.

Big players aren't in small niches. There's your opportunity. I focus on niches and micro niches that have hardly any competition.

The idea that the App Store is saturated is a myth. I can release a niche app and be Top 200 in one day.

"I can release a niche app and be Top 200 in one day."

So why don't you do it and why only a couple of your apps are in top 200 in particular categories?

Spencer C.

I do. For the past 2 years I've been releasing niche apps and constantly reaching Top 200.

I have more Top 200 apps than just about every developer other than multi million and billion dollar organizations.

Any thoughts to adding a goal that benefits others more than yourself? It's great to be successful, but most successful people also enjoy philanthropy.

I do all giving anonymously and don't like to brag about it. If you want to know, I donate more to charities/organizations than anyone I know.

At this point though, it doesn't make sense to give large amounts to charity. I'd much rather give millions later than tens of thousands now.

Thanks Spencer. I appreciate your wanting to give anonymously, but as a leader, you influence others, so it might not be a bad idea to let your readers know about your altruistic activities, too :)

Yes. To further diversify my investments and businesses, I plan to invest in startups, mostly app companies. I've already invested in 3 app companies and 1 other startup as of today.

I'm looking for other young entrepreneurs like me who want to build app companies similar to Malibu Apps.

You advised on Facebook that changing category can increase sales. Do you think you increased sales because February 9th and 10th were during the weekend?

From which category did you change?

Hey, it was my strategy to change on the weekend to increase exposure. That's not the reason though. Sales were $100 yesterday (at least 2x average) and Monday is generally the slowest day.

I changed from games because the app was getting no exposure.

Smart move. You changed from games to what category?

Hey did you get my email about the guy that's been copying your apps? I don't get your response by email so I don't know if you've been getting them.

I'm not sharing the category publicly but the idea is that I switched from games, the most competitive, to a much less competitive category.

And yes, thank you for sending that. I actually know him and he asked before copying my icon design. Thanks for looking out, I really appreciate it!

Oh, I forgot that I had listed some apps on Apptopia a while ago. I'm pretty sure I asked them to remove my apps. No, I'm not selling Malibu Apps at the moment.
