Today was a serious food day. Went Downtown to try some popular spots (Dahlia Bakery and Beecher's Handmade Cheese). Pictured above is Dahlia's Maple Eclair, Coconut Macaroon, and S'mores pie. The coconut macaroon had incredible texture, the best I've tasted. It was slightly hard to bite into and then perfectly chewy unlike most low end macaroons which are too soft. The maple eclair was also among the best I've had. You can tell when eclairs are from donut shops vs. quality bakeries. This compared to the best ones I ate in Europe S'mores Pie from Dahlia Bakery. One bite was enough. Looked the best (and it was tasty) but too sweet | Wanted to see what was hype and what was real in Pike Place. Tried the "World's Best" Mac n'Cheese and a grilled cheese from Beecher's Handmade Cheese. It's definitely good but how bad can mac n'cheese be? They make the cheese in-house but I think it's mostly hype |
